Every piece is handmade and hand painted. For this reason, natural imperfections will occur, which adds uniqueness and a special beauty. In addition, due to the hand process and variety of clay used, serving sets do differ some dish plates. 
As seen in the pictures - the slight tint does represent the different colors of plates compared to bowls. When clay differs, stoneware will be named  differently in order to best provide clarity. Please be advised that even with the different colored clay, it is still Lead free stoneware. 
Portuguese stoneware has set the standard in casual dinnerware with its distinctive but functional patterns that are oven-to-table.
