Olives are a very large part of Portuguese culture. Two things a Portuguese table is never missing: olives and bread.
The larger part of the olive dish is to hold the olives, and the smaller section is where the olive pits go. However, even in Portugal, people are using these to hold olive oil to dip the bread! The two part section makes olive dishes the perfect versatile serveware piece.

The designs are inspired by the Alentejo living, which is the small homes and big farm lands. These olive dishes were hand crafted in the Alentejo Region of Portugal. The display is called "Monte" - the farm. It is all free painting, so no two olive dishes are the same!
Each item is hand painted and the differences in the design between each piece adds to the charm of the olive dishes. Natural variations will occur.
Hand made and hand painted in Portugal exclusively for Melita's Home.
